Fruticola Viconto was founded in 1986 as a result of the division of Viña Concha y Toro that initiated their fruit production in 1975.

Fruticola Viconto was founded to meet the need of having an autonomous company aimed mainly at the explotation, development and increase of agricultural activities in the area of fruits and fresh vegetables production for exporting, in view of the boom experienced by these products in foreign markets, specially in those located in the northern hemisphere, where they are produced or located off-season.

At present Viconto is dedicated to the production, marketing and exporting of fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, and for this purpose it owns 500 hectares of fruit plantations, located in the central region of Chile, the most important and fertile agricultural area of the country.

Using the most modern technology in its agricultural activities, Viconto´s main source of produce supply comes from its own 500 hectares and its direct control over 800 hectares. These are destined to the production of several species and selected varieties conceived on the basis of programs rigorously and carefully planned and designed, from the development of the material in the nursery garden up to its subsequent planting. To this effect it uses the most efficient crop methods in the best and most appropriate lands and production areas for such species and varieties, achieving its objective of establishing them where they find their most perfect natural habitat.
Viconto´s highly specialized agricultural professionals constantly go over and supervise in the field each of the productive process stages to ensure that the production, sanitary conditions and quality of the produce de of the highest level possible at harvest time.

Throughout its agricultural development, Viconto has been a pioneer in the introduction of new varieties of stone and pomaceus fruit. Thus, it has licensed varieties under a controlled production, such as sweetheart and sweetdelight plums, trazee peaches and Yataka Apple among others, which are be in production since with the 1993 season.
